The West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce is delighted to reveal the winner of its Centenary Bake Off, which has been raising funds for Neuro Therapy Centre, is Olivia Mulhearn from Umbrella Marketing Team!

Olivia’s chocolate tray bake wowed the judges with its decoration of assorted chocolate bars and centenary theme.

Olivia commented, “It was great to be involved in the bake-off, baking is a real hobby of mine, and it was great to bake and support the Neuro Therapy Centre. Everyone’s bakes looked great, but I’m so pleased to have won!”

The Centenary Bake Off raised £136.77 towards Neuro Therapy Centre’s ‘Virtual Centre’, which was launched last year to support vulnerable people with neurodegenerative diseases through the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Neuro Therapy Centre’s Virtual Centre allows them to offer the following services;

  • Exercises can be carried out at home through live sessions over Zoom and recorded films
  • Advice and support offered virtually and over the phone
  • Counselling support over the phone and virtually
  • Dedicated support groups around accepting diagnosis, bereavement, support for Carers and specific neurological conditions
  • Regular communications to inform, motivate and lift the spirits

Jane Johnston-Cree, Centre Director at the Neuro Therapy Centre commented, “Our virtual and telephone support become a lifeline to people with neurological conditions in the region during the last year and we received so many comments from people on how it benefited their lives and helped them to access exercise more frequently and easily. We’re so grateful to the West Cheshire & North Wales Chamber of Commerce for choosing to support us this year – their efforts will be a great contribution to keeping these services going alongside our face-to-face support.”

Debbie Bryce, Chief Executive Officer at the Chamber, was thrilled with the success of the Centenary Bake Off, saying, “It was amazing to see the creations made by the participants in the bake-off that were all made to support the running of Neuro Therapy Centre’s Virtual Centre, a truly great cause.

“A huge congratulations to Olivia for her winning cake and thank you to all those that took part. The only complaint from the judges was that they were not able to taste test all of the entries!”

Although the competition has ended, donations can still be made to the Neuro Therapy Centre here.
