This year marks Her Majesty The Queen’s 70 years of service. She will be the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.

The main celebrations will be held across the UK between 2nd and 5th June – where communities will be coming together to mark the occasion in a variety of ways. There will also be TV coverage of tributes and concerts.

At the Centre, we’ll be celebrating in Café Neuro ahead of the two bank holidays at the end of the week – look out for our special cake sales and craft activities.

If you want to bake something for your own celebration at home, why not take inspiration from the dedicated Jubilee cookbook?

There are also numerous events in the region from concerts , exhibitions and parades through to garden parties, fun days and picnics. Beacons are also being lit in a number of locations. See what’s happening near you.

Don’t forget to decorate your home too for the occasion, or why not dress in white, red and blue for the day? Here’s some handy templates for making a crown and bunting.

The Centre will be closed for the bank holidays of Thursday 2nd June and Friday 3rd June, but we’d like to wish all our members an enjoyable long weekend and look forward to hearing how you all celebrated. Have fun!
