You may have spent the last year supporting those around you more than ever but what about treating yourself. Here are some quick and easy tips on how to pamper yourself and show self love.

Why not work towards reaching a goal of self love by treating your mind and body?

Here are some useful tips on how to keep a happy and healthy mind:

Relaxation

Relaxation is great for keeping not only your mind healthy but your body healthy too. Methods of relaxation can vary from taking a nice bubble bath to practicing breathing techniques or even yoga.

Check out our page on relaxation and breathing techniques by our very own Counsellor. In her videos she talks through quick and simple breathing techniques which can be used as a method of relaxation. Relaxation is important to balance our stress levels and allow us to refocus our minds in a positive way.

Hobbies

Having and maintaining a hobby or activity which makes you happy can be amazing for the mind. So if you haven’t already picked up a hobby or interest during lockdown why not find something that interests you and take up something new? Maybe you haven't taken the opportunity to read a book in a while, or you want to get creative with writing, arts or crafts, redesigning an area for the garden or making up a flower pot to enjoy, a spot of flower arranging or a DIY or baking project. See our craft, cookery and gardening related blogs.

Enjoyment

Make sure that everyday you are doing something you enjoy. This doesn’t have to be a grand idea or something expensive. This can be that morning coffee you have while reading the newspaper or watching your local wildlife from your window. Establish this enjoyment into your daily routine and allow yourself that moment of tranquillity to ease your mind.

Physical Activity

No matter your physical capabilities physical activity is a major part of self care. If you haven’t already taken a look at our virtual classes why not head over to our therapies page and see what we have to offer? Carer members can join any of our classes.

Alternatively, you can check out our ‘workout from home’ films from our therapy team and do these in your own time.
