Snowdonia Marathon

The race takes place in some of north Wales's most spectacular scenery while encircling Snowdon. Runners are advised to consider the cold they may experience during the race and carry body cover with them.

The race, starting just outside of the village of Llanberis, is challenging from the very start. Runners turn onto the hilly A4086 after a traffic-free 3 mile stretch on the the ancient Nant Gwynant road, towards Pen-y-Gwryd.

Runners then have a spell of respite. The routes takes them along the A498 to Beddgelert (200ft) from where they continue along the A4085 to Waunfawr. It is then a rapid climb up to Bwlch y Groesa at about 1,200ft before heading downhill to the finish line in Llanberis.
